Reminds me of one of the more conclusive pieces of evidence that global warming is occurring - the date cherry blossoms flower in Kyoto (https://i.imgur.com/sD4nZuh.png)
It's a cool piece of data because it's been tracked for over 1100 years. We don't have a ton of sources of information like that.

I believe I heard that Miami has added 40 days of summer weather.

The past three years have been remarkably hot in some areas.
There is a concept of 残暑, which refers to the remaining heat of the summer. This normally spans the first 10 days of September. For the past three years, at least in 関東 region, the heat now lasts until October. There are exceptions: e.g. in September, when 台風15号 was briefly approaching Kanagawa Pref., it was cloudy and cold enough to wear long-sleeve shirts. Then the next day was the usual summer heat.
Some of my friends now jokingly state "Japan has 4 seasons: rainy season, mid summer, summer, and winter".
