As you’ll see in the comments of this reddit thread, untold numbers of people (including myself) are being left in the dust by Sidecar Health’s decision to discontinue their fixed indemnity policy for individuals.
This system of Sidecar paying 80% / policyholder paying 20% worked so well for the individuals, but perhaps it’s not a viable business model? I don't know. I just hope some healthcare-passionate entrepreneur decides to build something for this newly underserved market.
