Open source Android Auto server

Interesting find, that you

I suspected there were some emulation libraries out there because I recently upgraded the MMI in my i3 and went sniffing around in their ROM packages <https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?p=25544316#...> to see what's up. It seems they have a dedicated chip for infotainment <https://www.sunplus.com/products/sphe8388.asp> running an ARM CPU and then just package the Airplay and Android Auto emulation libraries combined with Qt and libinput shims for translating the car's head unit inputs down into normal Linux events

However, it's pretty janky (only connecting to my phone about half the time without restarting the MMI :-( ) and their Linux distribution skills could really benefit from some "adult supervision" as well as my firm belief that modding cars should really be done via open source and not "order from the Internet, plug into your car, pray"
