Sorry to hear you&#x27;re going through a rough time. My MIL recently passed away from cancer, but she lived over five years with stage IV cancer, and new treatments are constantly coming out. I hope the prognosis for those in your life who have cancer is good.I have a suggestion related to the job search though: I think your homepage should immediately link to your resume or have a linkedin link as well. Anyone who comes across your profile and checks might click one link and if they immediately see a skillset match, who knows?

I’m guessing it’s the remote req hurting you. I’ve been out of work for 7 months now and remote is probably my #1 requirement.The only interviews I’ve managed to get anywhere with want me to be hybrid at least, and usually require an expensive move I don’t want. Had I been willing to take a in office or hybrid role I’d probably have had a job a few months back, but honestly moving is the last thing I want to attempt right now, especially since I’ve hemorrhaged so much money and these companies want me to move to even more expensive areas than I already live.

I&#x27;m curious, those of you that have been laid off this year&#x2F;late last year, and still haven&#x27;t found employment, how are you surviving? (mentally, financially, etc) This is entirely new territory for me and my skillset is nowhere near as robust or varied as a lot of others that have been laid off the past 2 quarters.I&#x27;m getting worn out. I&#x27;m going into day 79 of unemployment. Hundreds of applications, zero interviews.Was laid off on my birthday, few weeks later my mother was diagnosed with cancer and given less than 3 years with treatment and less than 1 without, few days later my mother-in-law was diagnosed with cancer after almost 2 weeks in the hospital, this past Monday $1300 something dollar plumbing repair in the wall, $500 to a lawyer last week to get my mother a will (retired via disability, minimal possessions), it&#x27;s been a rough year.I estimate I&#x27;m a month or two from ending up at Walmart or McDonalds just to get more money coming in as my wife&#x27;s teacher salary and the gig work I&#x27;ve been doing only goes so far.
